What I loved most about my recent family session at the USC Horseshoe with the Hakmei family was how fun and playful it was! If you’ve never been to the Horseshoe in downtown Columbia, it’s a perfect location for family photos. Many parents love that it’s tucked away from some of the hustle and bustle of the city, and there are endless places for curious kiddos to explore, picturesque brick paths criss-crossing the grounds underneath the trees, and tons of beautiful gardens tucked behind buildings that make for beautiful photo locations!
Fall Family Photos at the USC Horseshoe
One of my favorite things about my session with the Hakmei family was capturing the boys’ energy and curiosity, as well as the snuggly and sweet moments between the high-energy ones!
When I asked Nora what she wanted to remember most about this time in her family’s life, she told me, “The kids’ laughter and hugs, and the love that’s always there and keeps us going, even in the craziness.” When I photograph families, I always try to capture both dynamics—the silly and the sweet. I love to keep sessions fun, especially for young kids, because the playful moments are often the ones that give way to some of the sweetest, love-filled moments!
She has also been a constant source of support and encouragement throughout my business. Nora has always cheered me on and believed in me. As one of my first clients, I’ve been photographing her and her family since she was pregnant with her oldest. I am so thankful for her and the opportunity to watch her family blossom and grow each year.
Nora and Jalal, I cannot tell you how much it means for you to trust me year after year to capture your family photos! Your family has been with me from the very beginning, and it was such a joy to document this season of life with your boys! I’m obsessed with these fun, playful photos of your beautiful family (they might be my favorite photos yet of the four of you!). I’m so glad we got to spend some time together at the Horseshoe, and I’m already looking forward to next time! Love you all!
