This is where I come in…

In case we haven’t met yet… hi, I’m Nicole!

I’m a maternity, newborn, & family photographer for moms who want beautiful photos to remember this fleeting season.

Reheat that cup of coffee, grab a seat on the couch, And let me share a little piece of my story…

Before I was a photographer, or even a mom, I was a teacher. It was the only job (other than being a mom) that I ever imagined for myself… but only three years in, I was already burned out.

I decided not to renew my contract at the end of the year, took a giant leap of faith, and dove headfirst into starting a photography business.

A year and a half later, our son was born. In addition to still learning how to be a business owner, I was also learning how to be a mom—and how to find the balance between both.

Not gonna lie… it was a struggle, and most of the time, I felt like I was failing at everything.

Just after our son turned 17 months old—surprise!—we found out we had a second baby on the way.

Around the same time, a photography business course that I’d been eyeing opened up. Knowing that I had roughly 9 months before everything in my life changed again, I took another leap of faith and decided to just freakin’ go for it.

And then, at my 16 week appointment, everything came crashing down as we found out that our baby no longer had a heartbeat.

The season that followed was the hardest I’d ever experienced. I tried to be strong… to be a loving, present mom for the sweet boy we already had… but the pain of our loss consumed me. It felt like I was drowning in grief, and I finally had to admit that I couldn’t navigate it on my own.

I reached out to my doctor, got connected with a therapist, and began the journey of healing.

Along the way, I started to share my story. The more I did—and the more I admitted that I wasn’t okay—the more that other women began to open up to me about their own hard seasons. It was almost like letting myself be vulnerable gave others an opening to do the same.

As my business grew and I worked with more and more moms, I started to realize that we all want the same thing: for someone to really see us and let us know that we don’t have to have it together all the time. Even when we are struggling the most, there are pockets of love and joy, and those are the things we want help remembering.

And that’s what I promise to do for you.

Long story short…

The challenges of being a mom led me to my purpose:

Encouraging you in your journey & documenting the fleeting moments of whatever season you’re in.

The heart of my business is connecting with moms like you.

When you work with me, you can let go of the pressure to be some sort of aspirational “perfect family.” Because I’m a mom, too, and I know that life with kids is always a little bit chaotic.

I’m here to take away the stress of photos with your family by helping you feel 100% prepared for your session. You can trust that I’ll help you feel comfortable in front of the camera… and capture the beauty in the chaos.

Photographing children is no easy task, but she managed to get an entire album of keepers of our family for our son’s first birthday session.
