I absolutely love being a family photographer, but I have to admit that there is just something so special and magical about being able to photograph my newborn clients at home! The environment is always so relaxed and calm, and I love being able to meet a new little one in their own space — their first home, the place where they will spend their first months of life and experience all of those big first year milestones! During our newborn session, I always think about how I’m walking through the same front door where baby’s parents first brought them home. I see the table where they will eat their first foods and think about all the meals the family will share together there over the years. I walk across the same floors where they will start to crawl and take their first steps, imagining all the memories that will happen inside these walls as they grow up. It’s a humbling experience, and it always fills me with so much warmth and gratitude for the privilege to be a part of capturing such a special time for a family!
I was so thrilled when Lana invited me to come capture some photos of her sweet baby girl just before Easter! Little E was just three weeks old when I got to meet her, and this little lady is just the sweetest thing! And the morning of her session was absolutely perfect, too! I was worried that we’d have to reschedule our session since we were expecting some strong storms and severe weather that day, but the rain held off until the very end of our session and we had the most gorgeous, filtered sunlight streaming in through the windows! It took us a little bit to get baby girl settled in and relaxed (which is totally normal!!!), and with the magic of a full tummy, some swaying and patting, my trusty sound machine, and a cozy space heater, she fell into the deepest sleep and snoozed sweetly while I snapped away!

Lana — thank you again for inviting me to share this time with you! Not only was your sweet girl a dream to work with, but I loved getting my fill of sweet baby snuggles with her, too! I hope you treasure these photos of your beautiful little one, and I can’t wait to watch her grow up over the years to come!
